Margaret Easley RN, MSN, FNP-C, President Elect
Margaret has always known she wanted to be in the healthcare field specifically nursing and direct patient care. She received her associates in nursing from San Bernardino Valley College in 1979. She continued on and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University – San Bernardino in 1988 while working in a busy hospital in multiple nursing positions at Saint Bernadine Hospital. She went on to continue her education and received her Master’s in Nursing from the University of Southern California in 1994. That same year she became a licensed Family Nurse practitioner where she began practicing in clinics to help families ages birth to death. During her time in Colorado she worked with the National Health Service Corps where she traveled as a nurse practitioner to help out in underserved populations. In 2001, her family moved back to California. She had many different positions within Saint Bernadine Hospital, opening Minute Clinics inside of CVS Pharmacies, Chief Public Health Nursing Officer for San Bernardino County, and various urgent cares in Southern California. She also served as the AANP state Representative for Southern California from 2007-2009. In 2013, she was presented with the opportunity to own her own practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Lander, Wyoming. That year she moved from California to Wyoming in order to serve the rural community and provide care to an underserved area. As the sole practitioner, she sees patients birth to death and everything in between. When she is not in her clinic she is spending time with family, travelling, painting, and shopping.
Dr. Maria Kidner APRN, DNP, FNP-BC, FAANP started her nursing career in 1985 as a CNA in Lander. Her career path includes 13 years of L&D and NICU, a short time (2 years) as a Public Health nurse as she transitioned from RN to NP. He first NP role was a combination of primary care and ER. There she became the first NP to complete ATLS in Wyoming and proceeded to volunteer on the ATLS training team. Dr. Kidner then took those skills to Guyana, South America where she worked educating nurses at St Joseph Hospital and developed mass casualty trauma training for the gas company and airport. Returning home, Dr. Kidner went into cardiology during which time she completed her DNP in 2008. In 2014 she decided to become part of the Duke University team in Rwanda, Africa where she spent a year training nurses and physicians history and physical, cardiac, ER, and leadership skills. After returning home, she remains a part-time instructor for Duke University, and continued to work with her Rwandan colleagues to develop and implement LEAP Leadership. This is a leadership and mentor program developing leadership, engagement, accountability and professionalism skills. Currently, Dr. Kidner is the Director of Whole Health for Peak Wellness Center in Cheyenne where she is developing a new model for primary care and implementing a fully integrative care program. These activities have allowed her to speak locally, nationally and internationally on a variety of topics. Dr Kidner has been the representative for Wyoming to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners since 2008. She is active in politics, back packing, and has a passion for photography.
